Immediately after September 11, 2001, a group of artists gathered with the goal of creating a visual image that would serve as a rallying point for those exploring alternatives to violent responses to terrorism. They decided this symbol should spark discussion, exploration, cooperation, creativity and group action, thus serving as a catalyst for the peace movement and the evolution of human society.
